Available/Idle Status

If I change my status from available to idle, does that prevent clients sending me private requests? I ask because I'm moving house soon and I don't know how long it will take to get internet set up in the new place... I don't want to come back to a lot of angry emails from CC support about private requests that I've missed.

It should remove you from the list and you won't be sent new writer pool or project requests. I'll let the team here know to keep an eye out for any requests going your way too if you want to send us an email at Support.
