Article Rejection questions

I just joined today and submitted 6 articles and they were all mostly rejected due to "file type". I read the writer's guidelines and don't understand why they were rejected. I believe my articles meet all the guidelines. Can someone help me?

Thanks,
Neccia

Hi

Did you submit these files at Word of Text files? I think those are the two preferred file types (or the only acceptable file types).

sorry - mean 'as Word or Text files' (that may make my reply a little clearer, I hope!).

Yes they were all submitted as Word files.

Don't forget, Word 2007 isn't accepted as it's still too new. These are saved with the .docx file extension. You must save them with the .doc (Word 97-2003) file extension.

If they are in Word 2007 (.docx), that's the problem. Simply re-save them as Word 97-2003 (.doc) and that will solve that. I believe that the reason they aren't accepted is that the format is too new. Customers that haven't upgraded to Word 2007 will not be able to open them.

I have my Word 2007 set up to automatically save my documents in the earlier format so I don't have to remember each time.
