Hi, I was wondering if it was possible to have some sort of an alert system where if a requester has responded to you, you would know it. As it stands now, you have to check the questions/answer section to see if there's a response (most times there's not but when there is you want to respond promptly). This gets tedious when you have 10+ posts to various requests that you have to check frequently. Yesterday just by accident (I clicked the wrong catagory) I found a question to me from the requester. Who knows how long ago he had posted it? I would've liked to know right away so I could provide better service.

Yes, that would be really useful. I've had the same problem recently - not knowing that someone had responded to my question - and I don't want to appear rude by not answering quickly!

I'd have to agree. We can handle the way everything is now, however it would be really helpful if we were alerted whenever someone replies to us on a request. It would make it so much easier, instead of having to constantly check (hoping to find the right request) to see if that user responded to what we posted or not.

Actually, since posting before I did discover that someone had left me a message on one of the requests and that it could well have been there for ages, as I'd not known and not checked. I felt really bad, as it may have come across like I wasn't interested  So I'd love author alerts even more now!

Alerts should now be working for authors.

No, the alerts are not working. This would be a welcome feature.

A requester had replied to my submission in the Requested content section
(Microsoft Office). I did not get any alert on mail.
There was another reply in the Web Development section. No alert again.

Well one of those was before we implemented the alerts. I'll look into it again, but we just implemented this on the 10th.

No alerts have come through even though a requester had responded to my questions.... I found the response the old fashioned way by checking back.....
