Will Editors Make Changes to an Article?

I misspelled a proper name in three places in an article. I sent an email to CC about two weeks ago in which I asked for an editor to make the corrections. So far, they haven't been made. Was sending an email the right thing? If so, how long does a correction take? Should I delete the article and resubmit it?
