Congrats! That's a great accomplishment! But darn! I'm lagging so far behind the pack these days. Severe morning sickness has cramped my writing style over the last several months. And, well, come to think of it, a new baby probably will too! Oh well, I'm content, but I miss working at my old pace. With any luck, I might hit the mark after another year.

Have a great weekend!!! :D

Well congrats to you! Morning sickness isn't fun but it's worth it. If it makes it any easier, my CC career took off within months of my baby's arrival. It's doable with a little one by your side.

Oh I sympathise! I can't write at all when pregnant - it messes with my eyes. Hopefully you'll get a good sleeper and can take advantage of nap-time.

I'm not surprised beconrad hit 1000! I have been watching the amount of articles she writes. Wow! I can't keep up! Any advice or secrets to share with us? :)

Hi Lauren and thanks for the kind words.

I don't really have any words of wisdom to share; mostly I just write for the requests here. When there are good requests I tend to "over write" to give the buyer a choice. I've found that even if the original requester doesn't buy them they may sell down the road.

I've tried to take the advice of Celeste and others to write something everyday, although I often have trouble coming up with things to write about when there are no requests. Once a new request comes in its like "aha - now I can write again".

Take care and happy writing,
Bonnie

While it's fun to keep an eye on the top seller's list, it's just a list with a bunch of numbers. What matters most is if you're able to keep up with your own goals, not trying to keep up with someone else's pace.

For example, if you're trying to sell five articles a month and you accomplish that, give yourself a nice pat on the back and keep on going!

Thanks beconrad and Celeste for both of your helpful advice!

Celeste, you are absolutely right about focusing on your own goals. Since I'm just getting my feet wet here, I had only one goal to start with, which was "give it a try!" When I sold my first article and saw that this was a feasible way for me to earn more money and get some writing practice, I set another one: earn enough to pay for half of a new laptop so my husband and I aren't always tussling over this one! I'm already well on my way, and I'm thrilled about it! To look at it from another perspective, it's great to see the success of others and think about how that can help me succeed in my own endeavors.

And who knows! Maybe long after I am able to get that "writing laptop" for myself, I'll still be around here giving advice to newbies like myself one day!
