Best Practices?

Post by Viqi French »

Hi all,

Today's my first day here and I haven't uploaded anything... Scared to! Well not really, but I do want a more sure footing first.

Here are a few of my questions. I welcome any insight you can lend:

1. What's a popular word count range?

2. Do you write a certain niche, or just anything that strikes you?

3. What just doesn't sell well here?

4. Any pricing advice?

Thanks,

Viqi

300-500 word articles are probably most popular, though you can go 1500 words and higher if you really want to research a topic well.

There should be a link to pricing suggestions when you go to submit.

To see what's currently selling, check out the "recently sold" list.

Write about whatever interests you. Even if the article doesn't sell immediately, most writers find that their articles eventually sell.

And don't be afraid. Once you understand the submission process, you'll be fine.

Definitely read stuff. I didn't read enough before submitting, and nearly wore Ed out with procedural rejections.

Wonderful responses!! Thanks so much.

And Steve, you're TOO funny. I'm already braced to get a rejection notice my first submission. Which I shall do in about 5 minutes.

OMG!!
