Referencing Web Sites

Hi, can I use urls in my articles if it's relevant to the entire article. I want to do an article that provides resources for people on social activities that can be search for online. These groups are local, state specific, and nationwide. Referencing the websites is critical in pointing people in the right direction. Please advise. Thanks.
