Holiday Articles

Post by cgardener »

I saw someone talking on one of the forums about the holiday buyers, and I just have a question. Do blog posts or articles sell better for holidays? What kind of holiday stuff sells well? I was thinking maybe "how to's" would be popular.

I'm getting ready to start some holiday post writing, and just wanted to know which way to go.

Thanks, everone, for being so helpful.

50 views and no replies...o.k., never mind. Don't want anyone giving away their secrets.

Sometimes people read the questions but are unsure of how to answer, seeing as they have no experience in that area themselves. If I had some great holiday selling secrets, I'd be happy to share, but sadly I do not... I've not even tried out the blog section of the site, so I'm not sure which type (articles or blogs) sell better in any topics. Sorry I can't have the answers you are looking for.

I wasn't sure what you meant by holiday buyers. My own decisions on what to write are not influenced by whether it's holiday time, unless that inspires an idea to pop into my head, or there are related public requests. But I think how to articles are generally popular.

The secret is that there isn't a secret. Great content may sit for months because there simply isn't a buyer interested and mundane content may be swept up quickly. I think I sold 5 real estate articles in one day, a procrastination blog post within minutes of posting, and a gardening article after months. It is like fishing, some days they are biting and other days you're left with half a worm. I posted two articles on Kwanzaa last week that were purchased within minutes of acceptance but then the other two that accompanied those articles are still sitting. You just never know. Hopefully the more interesting and various the content the site offers, the more buyers we will have coming to the site on a regular basis.

That's funny that the procrastination article sold right away :)

Funny too that as I wrote the procrastination article, I was just telling the truth as to the process I went through to write that specific article. ADD, ADD, ADD, ADD....Always Dodging Deadlines.
