Tools and Goals for the New Year

Post by Celeste Stewart »

It's a bit early, but what the heck. Here's a cool, FREE tool for freelancers (and any home business owners):

Microsoft Office's Accounting Express 2009 -

It's totally free, though less functional than their Pro version. Plus, you'll see a few Microsoft ads here and there. If you've been looking for a way to create invoices, track expenses, and so on, give it a try. In the past, I've used a spreadsheet but it's getting rather cluttered. I also now have several offline customers where I need traditional invoicing and a way to quickly see who's past due so I can go collecting before they fall too far behind. I've been playing around with it and so far, so good. It's a bit complicated at first, but once you figure it out, it's a breeze. I figure by the time January 1st rolls around, I'll be ready to go with it.

Goals - ack not ready for that yet.
