How to filter potential affiliates and then help them?

Post by Jesse »

Hi Folks,

So, I have some people who are interested in selling articles on a site like Constant Content, but I'm thinking I don't want to start adding mass amounts of affiliates willy-nilly (particularly if they're going to be associated with me in any way). Do you ever add affiliates? If so, do you filter or screen them or just throw a link out there on your blog or forum signatures? If they email you, do you tell them anything about CC or just send them the link?

If you get affiliates, do you talk to them at all? Explain CC's standards? Try to help them write articles that are well-written, original and of actual interest? Basically, what I'm asking is are we responsible for our affiliates? If not, is it "okay" to contact them in an attempt to help them do better?

Yes, you can contact affiliates via the link provided in the "Your Affiliate Info" section. I think it's great that you want to welcome your new affiliates and show them the ropes and I think they would appreciate any help. After all, wouldn't you have loved it if someone did that when you joined? You certainly don't have to do any such thing but it's a nice gesture.
