The one I have trouble with is accept/except. No matter how many times I use one of these, I have to look up the meaning to make sure I've picked the right one.
Another pet peeve - whenever someone says "___ in color" (i.e. "red in color"). Happens a lot in radio car commercials. Drives me teetotally insane.
