Stolen Content

Post by JD »

You may want to check the site http://all-about-jewellery.blogspot.com/ for stolen content. I just received a Google alert and found one of my unsold articles there. I've sent an email to the address appearing at the bottom of the page and also informed Support. I noticed two other articles that I believe are also stolen content from CC: Retro Style for the Alpha Male, and Wedding Anniversary Gemstones - The Later Years.

Regards

I have now submitted a copyright infringement notice to Blogger regarding my own article, and am about to notify support.

Jak

My email to the owner seems to have worked anyway, as my content is no longer posted. The owner responded saying that he bought it from someone at forums.digitalpoint.com and thought it was OK as it didn't bring up any searches in Copyscape! But you just don't know what to believe when this happens, do you.

Anyway, good luck. I'm sure you'll get it removed.

Yep, that is indeed a stolen article on retro style. Grr!

I've never had this happen before and am a bit at a loss. My first urge is to reach through the screen and snatch the article back with a "Give me that--how dare you!?" but that isn't possible. Maybe I just need to take a deep breath, but I don't see an e-mail address at the bottom of the page. Blah...at a total loss here. I am a Luddite sometimes, I guess.

Update: Hooray, it's gone! That was surprisingly fast. I wrote to the blogger's e-mail address (once I calmed down and found it) and to Support. I don't know which avenue produced results first, but either way, it's off the site.

It must have been your email to the blogger becaue \I wrote to suport and mine is still up there. But I have now located that email address myself and written to him suggesting he needs to pay CC or remove the piece. So we'll see. If he genuinely did purchase from digitalpoint, he's not likely to do that again, so perhaps we'll get a new customer.

I also told him that we are all going to lose potential income as these articles can now only be offered for usage rights.

My piece has finally been removed. But it's taken three emails and a request for $50!
