A UK/US English Question

Post by jak »

When I'm using a US English spellchecker (rather than my native UK speak), I keep getting a wavy red line under the word 'learnt'. It disappears if I change the word to 'learned'. Is 'learnt' not used in US English? It's coming up a lot in what I'm doing for a private request so I'd welcome some advice from someone.

We use learned in US English. Past tense of learn. Good luck!

In the US when people say "learnt" it's usually in a sentence like this: The youngins' went and learnt some rithamic at that there school house over yonder. :)
