HI All,
I recently had an article rejected for an insufficient introductory paragraph. In re-writing the article for submission, I inadvertently copied/pasted the name of a city from a web site, little knowing that the link to that hard-to-spell city copied over with the characters. Yes, rejected again because of an imbedded link.
I hastily fixed that and re-submitted the article again before stopping to think, what if I get a third rejection for something else further into the article? I'm asking the forum what the ramifications of that could be. Needless to say I had proofread the tome numerous times and was comfortable with sending it in. Now, I'm not entirely sure as my confidence has been shaken a bit.
Well, thank you in advance for any and all comments.
I remain humbly yours,
DennyK

If you are worried, then you can always delete the article before it is reviewed again. Go over it with a fine tooth comb, and then resubmit. If you haven't had any articles accepted yet, I'd be careful not to get that third rejection.

Thank you for the suggestion. So, that makes a difference in having had some articles accepted? I believe I'm at 7 accepted and have sold 4.
I do think I'll take your advice and pull it before review. As I said, my confidence has been shaken a bit.

Re: Second Rejection, Same Article
Not sure, but my impression is this: if you have a track record of articles accepted, and better, sales, editors will be a bit more tolerant of a rejection. If you are just starting out they look to see whether you can make the grade. There are many new writers, and I see they are backed up with submissions. I'm sure they feel they can't take the time to look at the same article repeatedly.
I've found it helps to put an article aside for a few days, and go on to another project. No need to feel a loss of confidence in your work, just let the rejections be incentive to proofread more carefully. Good luck!

It happens. Relax.
If I get rejections I feel are frustrating or discouraging I either let them sit until my mood changes before editing it or I redo the entire thing.
Other simple rejections I resubmit and might have forgotten something.
There is both pleasure and pain in writing, it comes with the job. Just let your frustration and anxiety fade away.

Your not going to get banned over an embedded link from copying a name over. Relax and move on Good luck.

Thank you all for your suggestions and especially for your encouragement. I pulled the article from consideration and am sitting on it now, knowing that inspiration will come in due time and I can get a rewrite completed. At first I thought the client wanted a one day turnaround, but I now notice that the articles are not due for 45 days. My goal is to beat that by 40 days.
Yes Joy, there is pleasure and pain in writing. Lord help me but I am beginning to enjoy both.
