What format is preferred for submitting articles?

Again I'm going to say that I'm new here....

I've submitted a few articles, and have even sold a few! I'm loving it so far. I just got MS Word, which is great for several reasons, but I wanted to be sure that I can submit articles in that format. What format is best? Is MS Word format acceptable?

Word is the best format. The document opens in the correct format without any fuss. They certainly take less time to edit.

Hey, anyone know if MS Word 2007 will be able to be read by users of earlier version? I plan on getting a new laptop once Vista is released along with the latest Office 2007 suite. Just wondering if I anyone knows yet.
