Making the Author's List

Post by janewinstead »

What are the rules for making the Author's list? I did not find it in the tutorial, guidelines or FAQ. I am fairly new to CC.

Thanks, Jane

Hello -- five unique or full rights sales and you'll make the "list."

Making the Author's List

Thanks. I had an idea it was something like that but wasn't quite sure if it was just having something approved and posted or if it required a certain number of sales. I have three articles on review now. However, two of them are for usage only as they have been previously published.

By the way, congratulations on your "1,000."

Why is it only unique or full rights? I've sold 5 as usage, but I don't have control (other than pricing) over what rights people buy.

Hi Kat! I think it's a throwback to when they allowed usage to go for free -- maybe they'll change it now that the freebies are out of the equation.

Hey CS! I hope they change it because I'm selling, but it's like I don't exist. Sniff.

Don't worry, Kat. Give it a little time, and you'll show up on the list. It took me a while to sell five qualifying articles, too, but what fun it was when I did!

Besides, we're in an unusual phase right now. Usually it is full rights articles that sell over usage and unique. Just continue to do what you're doing. The others are right; it will be no time at all before you show up on the list.

It is an unusual phase, isn't it? Another post was talking about May being a slow month, and I agree it has been a little off. If I recall June and July last year really took off. I remember because I had a newborn at the time and was constantly online selling stuff like crazy. It'll be interesting to see how the cycle pans out.

I predict Kat will be on the list on within two weeks.

That's nice to know, Celeste--I was afraid maybe summers were just slow, and I was settling in for three+ months of sluggish sales. Here's hoping they do pick up in June and July! :D

Thanks guys. Just sold one full rights, so only four to go. I guess it is better to have to work for something. Hey, that would make a great article!

Selling articles!

Hi!
Have any of you noticed a sale ratio that works for you ... like submit five articles and sell one?
