I am headed to Australia! I am so excited. My husband and I catch our flight on Christmas Eve and arrive in Sydney on Boxing Day. I will definitely NOT be leaving CC....I am very, very grateful that CC is making it possible for me to earn money from anywhere in the world. I just came from a baby shower where I was extolling CC's virtues...I talk about how great CC is any chance I get. Heh.

Hi all,
I have decided to give myself a really big writing Christmas present - I'm looking at doing a Masters of Writing as the next step in improving my writing as a freelance writer. I'm also looking at changing my lifestyle, so I can spend more time writing!

I gave myself a few gifts this month as well
Since they're all writing or freelancing related, I can probably deduct them on my taxes so that's a bonus.
I'll write up the next challenge soon. Until then, start thinking about what you want to accomplish in 2010 writingwise. Yes, we'll be setting goals. It's January after all. That's what we do. All kidding aside, without goals and a vision, success is a matter of luck. Let's make sure we're successful by defining what we want to acheive and then setting down the path we've imagined for ourselves.

Well, my husband I guess took this challenge. I was surprised with a brand new MacBook under the Christmas tree. He claims it didn't "break the budget" we set for each other because it was "from the kids." How a 6 month old and a 9 year old managed to use Daddy's credit card to buy a laptop at Best Buy, I will never know. 
So yes, he is being SUPER encouraging of my return to writing since Catie is more self-sufficient (as much as a 6 month old can be, I mean she naps and plays on the floor now for 30-45 minutes at a go, so I have some time for writing). He is also supportive of my dreams of novel writing. I could have kissed him when I shared with him my goal for the year, and how I wanted to do it the right way of getting an agent etc. He looked at me and said, well it would just be an incredible thing for you to have an entire book written.
So far things are falling into place nicely. I stumbled upon the submission guidelines for eHarlequin, and while I didn't plan to write for them, I am finding some of their shorter eBook novella needs an interesting challenge. Writing a story in 50,000 words will be a challenge for wordy me! And since they publish over 100 print books a month, and I don't know how many eBooks, it might be a great time to "get in there." I don't know, it's unchartered territory for me, but can't hurt to try!
