I've spent a lot of time on this site in the past; it's a great resource.

It drives me mad to see the flood of "-ize" neologisms coming from writers and speakers. It betrays a thin vocabulary or a slow wit. Primarily "utilize" as a synonym for "use" gets under my skin, but it's well-entrenched. Generally a word ending in "ize" is the poorest of a wider selection.

Just bookmarked it.

I immediately searched for "toward/towards" as a critique partner always crosses off the extra 's' that I tend to add. Both are acceptable so we're both right I suppose. Apparently, the way I'm using it is the UK way. I'll work toward being more American.
