Back :)

Post by Elizabeth Ann West »

Hi everyone,

Just submitted my first article since my little sabbatical for the last 8 weeks. It was a nice break to refresh my eyes and mind from writing. Now I'm feeling the excitement that comes with submitting all over again. I also have started a novel (egads) that is a twist on traditional Chick Lit, mainly for me, my friends, and family members I regularly swap Kinsella and Meyers books with.

The pregnancy is doing great. I've made it to 11 weeks, so 4 more days and the major risk of miscarriage will be behind me. We've seen Little Bump on the ultrasound, and the little fluttering heart activity. My husband keeps calling the baby Bartholomew Vladimir, just to get a rise out of me. I have told him to stop it, or else when I'm post-delivery and it's time to sign the birth certificate, I will be so emotionally attached to the stupid name, we will end up with a Bart Vlad. Ugh, it really is a horrible name. My apologies out there to anyone with it.

So here's fingers crossed my first piece sells quickly. In the meantime, I will try to catch up on all the changes around here. :)

Always Smiling,
Elizabeth Ann West

You don't think that's a lovely name?

You'll want to wander on over to the Updates for Authors forum to check out what you should do to protect yourself against content thieves. There was a big heist while you were away.

Welcome back.

I read all about it! Never seen theft on such a large scale before. Thanks for responding, seems like you're the only one who missed me :)

Well on the positive side, C-C is renowned for great content, so it makes us a bigger target. Just think, if nothing here was worth anything, no one would even bother... I suppose that should comfort those who haven't had articles sell, but were stolen.

Nice to chat with you again Ed! It's really nice to be writing again, I forgot how much I simply enjoy manipulating the words. I think editing myself is still my favorite part.

It's just the time of year. Everyone is quiet unless something dramatic happens.

Well, editing yourself is the other half of writing, so I'm glad you enjoy it. I wish everyone did.

Congratulations! I missed you.

I am jazzed because for the first time in a while I made over $200 yesterday with my articles.

Keep writing. My payoff was from a series of green articles written around November 1.

Toodles,

Angela

Awesome Angela!

I'm glad to hear it. Green definitely seems to be in right now. Not just on this site but others too. We have a new TV channel on our cable that is things green, and there is this game show that takes normal families and calculates their carbon foot print. Then they help the family reduce, reuse, and recycle everything they can. After one month, they tally the amount of money they save, and if they are able to keep it up, they give them like the equivalent on their savings over a year as a prize. There's this one tool they use often which is a little gadget that calculates how much money is being spent in electricity per hour. I so want one of those!

Green is in? Then why does Ed keep rejecting my articles written in green font?
