Question of Rights

Post by Cheanque »

Hi -

I'm new here and haven't yet submitted an article (still studying the site and requirements). I have a question about rights, though. From what I've read it seems that we're just granting licenses for certain terms of use. I don't want to give up all rights to my writing for perpetuity. Is there a time limit on the licenses we grant? Can I submit an article elsewhere after it's placed via Constant Content? Can I use if on my on web site?

I also reviewed posts on rejections. It seems that a lot of articles are rejected for arbitrary reasons and without an explanation that would allow an author to revise a manuscript to make it acceptable. I understand there are probably good reasons for rejection, but maybe a little more clarity from the editors in what needs revising is called for.

What are your thoughts?

I appreciate your help. If it saves time, just point me to the correct place in the site to find the answer.

Thanks!

Our licensing structure is not based on time limits. You may choose not to allow customers to purchase full rights for your articles, but most customers come here looking for content that they own and can customize. Full rights content also commands the highest prices. You may ask "usage rights only" for articles published elsewhere, whether they are published elsewhere before or after you place the article for sale on Constant Content.

Rejections are never arbitrary, and all rejections are accompanied by a reason. Our high standards require that articles must follow our guidelines and be submitted without errors. Authors are welcome to resubmit if they wish, and most do. However, authors must also be able to proofread their own work and consistently submit content that meets our standards.

Thanks,
Ed
