Profile Pages

I've just spent a few minutes wandering through the authors' profile pages, and noticed how much they vary. So this got me wondering...

What tips do people have for making their profile pages help sell articles?

Is it better to include a photo, or leave it blank?

Do you use your profile to give the customer a choice of extra, beyond the basic, services you may provide?

Any advice, especially from those regular top selling authors, would be very much appreciated.

Ps. http://www.constant-content.com/Author/ ... ails-0.htm - my profile for anyone wanting to make any suggestions.

Hi Nick,
I like the information you've included such as the hints to look for more reviews by the same author and your ability to write in either US or UK English. I would probably drop the 24-year-old part so you don't come across as "too young" and instead highlight your experience such as your college degrees and publishing credentials. Try to format the bullet points if possible so the overall look is cleaner. I know we don't have a whole lot of control over that text box though. Maybe use asterisks to signify a bullet point or indent them somehow.

I can't say one way or another if the profile makes that much of a difference because most of my regular clients found me before we had profiles. I have had a couple that asked for work after finding me on the site somehow. Also, I often point to my CC profile as a place where prospective outside customers can view samples of my work.
