Interesting articles and sales

Is it me, or are there many intriguing requests and sales going on? I'm watching all the literature articles being sold - and wonder whether one lucky author has found a terrific niche or whether several people are writing these. I'm also seeing some very interesting articles going up for sale - don't really have time to do more than glance at most, but I've had to click through a few and continue reading - like the current front page article on the Sumerians. Good to see such a variety of work here.

Lit articles might be for a private request. I noticed them too. Amazing the subjects people want covered. That is why you can write what you want and it will eventually sell on CC if it is priced right.

Write what you want and eventually it will sell... I'm about to test that theory.

Just submitted one on a topic that I didn't find when I searched the system. Either they get bought up immediately or its a weirdo nobody wants to write about or buy. Dunno which :-)

I only know about it from recent personal experience. I'm not familiar with all the categories so I search for other articles similar to mine to figure out how to categorize it.

Had a lot of weird personal experiences lately that will eventually become articles. (In case Ed was wondering about the choice of topics... :-)

I agree with both of you that the ideal strategy is to write what you want. It's so much more enjoyable to put an article together if you are writing about something you're genuinely interested in.

As for weird experiences playing out in your choice of work, I hear that. Sometimes my whole life feels like a weird experience.

Being a newbie I don't have a system besides write what comes out. I've written one geared to a request but I don't know if he'll buy it. Only did that one because it's a category I was writing in and comfortable with anyway.

What's interesting to me is that everything I've written for CC with one exception, I sat here and wrote for CC. All new. But that one exception was something I wrote as a first person POV previously and it's out on the internet, I rewrote it for CC (and it initially got rejected because there was still a couple of sentences with that evil "I" word), turned it into an article instead of a personal story and posted it for usage only. (Benefit that my name is plastered all over it publicly so there's no doubt it was mine to begin with and the rewrite is pretty different from the original. Same message, different set of words. :-)

That one rewrite, that initially got rejected and I had to fix, the thing that wasn't originally new and fresh, it sold a copy. (Yes I am still in awe.) The others are still waiting. Totally unexpected.

It will be interesting to see if the sales follow my heart. The articles that come straight from my heart versus just sharing information, yes, it will be interesting to see if there's a pattern in sales.

Yeah, funny what sells and what doesn't. If you could figure it out and bank on it, you (we all) could probably quit your day job. The good thing is, there is a market for almost everything.

You mean like picking the next big stock? I can tell you what NOT to pick, LOL!

If your whole life is a weird experience you should have all sorts of interesting things to write about :-)
