I have an article on Facing Fears and so far it's 1200 words. Who votes I shorten it and who votes I leave it lengthy?

Are you pleased with it just the way it is? Stop tweaking and submit. Someone will buy it because you worked so hard on it. Could you cut it into four articles, add a few words, and submit as separate titles? You might make some more money that way. Is there one idea that just doesn't fit? Shorten the article and make that stray puppy into a big dog with another article.
I vote you tighten it until it reads like a poem and then send it on to Ed.
1200 words really isn't that long... I've written 25,000 and had the reader send it back asking for more... Love those long pieces of writing.

I've sold articles with 963, 1446 words and 1059 words in the last couple months. So it is possible to sell longer articles.

Don't be afraid of longer articles, as long as you keep it tight and packed with information relevant to the topic. It's probably better to mix up the lengths of the articles in your portfolio. I tend to write lengthier pieces (1,000+), and my articles available-to-sales ratio runs consistently between 70-75%. Article length is only one small aspect of the whole.
