Hi,

This question is for Celeste and anyone else who cares to comment. I recently sold an article for useage to a cardiology practice. Though I always put my byline underneath the title, they did not include it on their site upon publication.

If I let it go (and not ask support to step in) my concerns are the following:

*I can't use the publication for my portfolio, and it involved a substantial amount of research.
*I may have less success in proving ownership if it is copied unlawfully and published elsewhere.

I assume that the doctors prefer to take credit for an article of a medical nature, but still??

I'm sure customers agree to CC's Terms of Service when they sign up or purchase an article. They know (or should know) that a usage article requires posting the wirter's byline. If they don't want to do this, they need to buy full rights. I'd contact support and request that one or the other condition be met.

I agree, contact support and they'll let the customer know that the license needs to be upgraded or your byline added. I think a lot of customers don't pay as much attention to the license terms as we do and most are reasonable once made aware of the discrepancy.
