Someone bought my article for usage rights, I searched it online and found it was posted on Hubpages but my byline was changed. I emailed the owner thinking it was her who bought my piece and asked her to kindly put my own byline back on the article since it was only for usage and not full rights. After the I sent the email I got suspicious because of a few other titles in her portfolio on hubpages. It turns out they were all stolen.

Cosmo,
I'm guessing HubPages management would take down the author if you contacted them about the blatant copyright infringement/plagiarism.

Celeste

Ok. I've sent the author a message but haven't sent Hubpages one yet. Thanks.

Wow! Thanks for all of your research on that Cosmo. Did you contact HubPages? I did send the "author" (we can't really call her that can we?) a message just now. That is the first article I have had stolen (that I know of). Thanks for investigating!

April,

not yet. I've only contacted her to remove the content within the day. If there's no response then I'll go for the DMCA complaint with hubpages.

Or you could go ahead with it if you want. There seems to be a lot of things you have to do in sending an email for a DMCA. The link is here http://hubpages.com/help/copyright_infringement

Update:

Thankfully, the hubber has taken everything down now. No need to file the DMCA complaint. Now I can relax.

Thanks Cosmo! I will likely keep an eye out on it a bit longer. Nothing to keep her from reposting them somewhere else.., When I ran part of my article through the search engine, it didn't come back with any results. I noticed her hub had only been up for a couple of days. Perhaps it was stil too new to be picked up by search engines. How did you find yours? Thanks for the heads up!

Google showed up with my content when I searched for it, probably because it was uploaded a day before yours and has already been indexed. The rest of the articles i just searched through her profile.

Google Alerts doesn't seem to work. I found a program being sold by someone called Rat Catcher. I haven't tried it though, but it seems interesting, you might want to check it out.
