Question about Waiting Status

Hello Everyone!

I'm quite new here but have spent a lot of time on these forums soaking up all the valuable information. I've learned so much about how to succeed at Constant, so a big thank you to all of you for your direction and advice!

I have a question about an article of mine that's currently on waiting status. I read somewhere on here that a buyer has likely placed it in his/her shopping cart but hasn't fully completed the order; consequently, the article has been removed from the general inventory and isn't available to other buyers. As it's been on waiting status for a few days and I've received no offers for it, I was wondering how long I/Constant Content should wait for payment. I don't mind hanging on for a few days but would of course prefer that the article be returned to the inventory if the buyer doesn't intend to follow through. Is there a glitch somewhere? Should I contact support? If so, how/where do I do that?

I'd greatly appreciate any input on this issue or info about the normal procedure to follow.

Again, thanks to all of you for sharing your experiences here at Constant--especially your advice on how to write to the market and increase sales :) .

Hi and welcome.
Yes, sometimes it's a transaction that's waiting to clear - like if the client paid with an eCheck (takes about a week to clear) rather than a credit card (instant). I'd give it about a week before contacting support. To contact support, click the Contact Us link from the main CC page (see attached) or go to this link: http://www.constant-content.com/area/contact.htm

I recently asked Support a general question about waiting status and was told that the buyer has five business days to complete payment.

Sometimes it can take longer. I've had articles in waiting status for more than a week and more often than not, I get notified that they've sold. In one of my email comm's with jrichards, he explained that articles do not disappear from the public pool if they are placed in a customer's cart -- this was so good to know. He confirmed that if you see your article in waiting status, it means that the buyer has paid for it and payment is just waiting to clear. However, he also mentioned that sometimes, payment does not clear or there are some snags -- in which case, they try to work it out with the buyer.

Thank you all for your helpful replies. They do clarify things. One of the reasons I chose to write for Constant Content was how refreshingly supportive the writers are on the forums. This certainly is a wonderful place to learn about writing for Constant and writing web copy more generally.
