Hi Everyone!

Hey!

I'm new to Constant, and thought I'd stop in to say hello. I'm also hoping a few of you vets could give me some advice.

I signed up about two weeks ago, and currently have five articles for sale, while four more are under review. I'm aiming to do well here, but I wonder if that's still possible. I mean I've seen plenty of forum posts from years ago talking about how people make great supplemental income here. And a few are even doing it full time (hi Celeste!). But not so many recent posts. How's the market doing these days?

I know I'm very new, but I honestly thought I was going to sell an article by now. Most of my writing is about technology (gadgets and software) and health issues (diet, supplements and weight loss). And those are popular topics online. I've priced everything at 10 cents a word. So I wonder if I'm not selling because I've yet to build up a presence. Or perhaps I'm pricing my articles to high?

Any advice and opinions are appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi,
Welcome to CC. The market's still alive and well here with lots of interesting public requests. As far as general sales, I don't really have a pulse on it right now. It may be a little slow with the holidays but I can't say for sure as I haven't been paying much attention to the recently sold list. Technology and health are both good topics. You might try a few public requests and try tinkering with pricing to find the right spot.

Hi Gordo,

I've only been here 2 1/2 months and have sold 15 articles at full rights. I think the buyers are here and your topics are right on target. You'll be getting sales soon!

Thanks for the responses and the encouragement. The other four articles were all accepted, but still no sales so far. I've decided to go back and check the "best offer" box on my content. Maybe that will get a few bites.

Gordo, I price my articles at 5 cents a word for full rights and have 2 sales so far in about two weeks. Your higher price just means it might take longer for you to find a willing buyer. But it's up to you how low you want to price your articles, because the price has to be cost-effective for you in terms of how much effort you put into creating them. I like to make at least between $12 and $15 an hour net on my articles and price them accordingly.
