Help me understand with your thoughts. Another place I'm writing for challenged the following:
*********We think it was largely driven by the Internet and their quest for knowledge********
I capitalized Internet and the editor said it should be " internet " small i
They also said Accounts Receivable should be " accounts receivable " not capitalized
What do you do?

Re: Captilization Advice
Capitalizing the term Internet is debatable as some style guides still recommend capitalizing it. However, accounts receivable should be lowercase. Same with marketing department and human resources.

Re: Captilization Advice
My very first submission here got kicked back to me for "Human Resources." Now it's one of those mistakes I will never make again.
On your issue, I agree with the editors on "internet" and with Celeste that it's not a closed subject quite yet. Anyone want to chime in on "email" (Yahoo Style guide) vs. "e-mail" (Chicago Manual of Style)?

Oh that's interesting. I always capitalize "Internet" in my articles.

Re: Captilization Advice
I still capitalize Internet because my style guides of choice recommend it (AP Stylebook and Yahoo! Style Guide). I was happy when AP recently softened on Web site (allowing website). As far as I know, but I could be wrong, AP still recommends Internet. Must buy new copy.
It would be nice if CC would adopt one style guide as a general rule so we don't have a bunch of different reviewers all with their own ideas of which convention should be followed...
