How Long are Reviews?

Does anyone know how long it takes for an article to be reviewed? I posted it a few days ago. I know this is an annoying newbie question, but I read the help section and didn't see an answer.

Thank you,
Mary Green

Welcome, Mary! You're right--we do get that question a lot, but we don't mind answering. Gives us a chance to welcome you and hear more about you.

Reviews for articles you think up and submit go to the end of the line and are generally reviewed in 1-7 business days, depending on the editors' workload. New folks get the royal editorial treatment, so your article might take a little longer.

Public requests are reviewed second, usually within 1-3 business days. Private requests where customers contact you directly and work only with you on an article are reviewed very quickly, sometimes within a few minutes of submission.

Please keep in mind that real people edit the articles. They comb through for punctuation, clarity, topic, content, etc. etc. When they come across the first error, they'll generally send the article back for you to edit more carefully. These fine folks also take vacation days occasionally, and work North American business hours.

Your first article may be rejected. The standards are incredibly high. Use your best editing skills to make sure no mistakes get through to the editors. Take your time and really, really dedicate yourself to perfect writing.

Even folks who have been around C-C for years get occasional rejections. We must always be on top of our game!

Welcome again, and visit the forums often.
