Hello everyone,
Please are there any delays with review time? I submitted an article on May 28 and 2 articles on May 29 and they still have been under review. Is anyone experiencing such delays? I am new on here and asked about it and was told it takes up to 5 business days to review submissions. Mine has been longer than 5 business days and still they are under review.
Thanks!
WD

Review times have become a lot longer lately for some reason...there are several other threads about this same issue. Hopefully it's just a temporary problem

Today is the sixth business day my first article has been under review. I haven't seen a reason to submit more than one article so far. I'm not sure there's a reason to keep the first article in the queue if I'll have to wait more than a week every time I submit something. I'd be smarter to spend that time looking for another site.

Review times here vary. Private and public requests take priority over on-spec submissions. Keep an eye on the public requests. If there are many of them, articles submitted for those are reviewed first. Also, if you're a new writer, it does seem to take longer to have articles reviewed. I've had a few of my articles take nearly a week to be reviewed and others accepted within hours. I stopped sweating over when my articles are going to get reviewed a long time ago. The CC editors are going to get around to them sooner or later.
The smarter thing to do is look for other avenues to submit your writing AND plan on articles to write for CC while you're waiting for your article to get reviewed. CC isn't like any other sites. You'll need to dedicate time to building your portfolio here and not expect quick sales. Once you've got a large number of articles available here, you'll start selling.

It can be frustrating having to wait so long to get your article reviewed, but having tried and tested many, many writing sites I have to say that this is the best one. There is no other site that gives you the freedom to write what you want, set your own prices, gain valuable editorial advice...while maintaining such a large customer base, etc. And unlike writing for magazines and newspapers, you don't have to waste time and money on query letters and /or wait 3 months for a reply, then another 3 months for payment.TysonChaney wrote:Today is the sixth business day my first article has been under review. I like to complain about the length of review times here, but CC is actually very good and well worth sticking with

Yeah, I've had the same problem. Mine has been sitting 10 days, double the standard review time; this is odd because articles I have submitted after that have been reviewed, changed and accepted. On the other hand, I've dealt with a certain site that takes two weeks to review and only pays $2-3 an article, if they're in a mood to pay upfront at all. So I'm not stressing too bad about it yet.
And a poster above me makes a great point. We could all be writing for traditional publications, which tell you that you must wait months to hear if they even want you to write something and then many will pay you when and if the piece is published 6 months after that. Sure it's higher pay, but seeing money possibly in a little under a year is a joke. At least this site offers the potential for a higher turnaround time. I don't know what I'd do if it wasn't for the internet.

My own (short) experience so far is that I submitted my first two articles on May 29th. They were reviewed (and accepted! I'm so stoked!) today, which was pretty close to 7 business days. Hopefully it will be quicker in the future now that I've got a couple acceptances under my belt, but even if it's not, it's not so bad. It will be nice when I'm able to enqueue as many articles as I think are ready.
