I agree. It's very shady that he keeps insisting he can't act against her and that his request to put his website back up was denied. If he was legitimately correct, he would be able to pursue legal action. Beyond that, if he really paid that writer $40,000/year she should have assets, so why is he saying she as "nothing" he could go after? Very sketchy all around.

Yep, exactly. Plus, I doubt a writer would out of the blue DMCA.

To the writer, I say good for her. It's about time writers are able to do something to people who don't pay.
