I tried to upload a picture of myself for the author profile but it wouldn't take.

Is there something I missed?

What kind of photo? Jpg, Gif, etc?

what OS windows XP, Macs OS 10.4, etc and what browser? I'm not sure why you are having issues.

I seems it was the size. I cropped the jpeg then it uploaded. However I'm now unable to add the blub. OS is windows XP, browser internet Exp.
