How are they looking these days, for general submissions as opposed to specific assignments for clients?

I think some of my spec articles have gone as long as a week. The good news is that it seems like I've sold about half of what I uploaded within a few days of approval.

Ditto here, up to a week for catalog submissions. On the other hand, requests seem to be getting approved within hours.
