I definitely find titles in the form "Short How to / x things Phrase - Longer phrase with a catchy benefit" work better than a six word wonder...

I can't help feeling the short title fetish came from old-school SEO where you didn't want the title cut off in the SERPs, but maybe that's just my own background bias
