Hi all,

Here I have a little story to share of one of my sales in CC.

Okay, I had my first sale within two hours of posting my content. So that increased my morale quite a bit, and I started submitting more of the long content. (one or two more I submitted) and I submitted some shorter pieces on some public request. I waited and aspired to see sales on these articles. I was actually hoping instant sale on my articles (a mistake of course).

my articles were almost 1500 word long, and were marketed for around 90 dollars. When about two weeks passed without sales, my morale got lower, I started asking qs here with high selling authors. And still it remained for two or three days, and desperate for a sale, I started reducing prices. First about ten dollars, then twenty dollars. And I ended up displaying my 1500 word article for less than 50 dollars. And I reduced also the usage sale price of all articles to 5 dollars (there I got two or three sales that way.) but longer pieces were still sitting idle.

Then I decided! come what may, I am going to sell the content for its apt price. I set it to 150 dollars and one other to 120, and decided that if they are worth, they will sell some time. And guess what? within a week's time, both of them were sold and more. And a fortune was sitting in my account here.

So, my moral: it's really good to market your articles at its apt price. Never underrate your articles by going low, that may make your content look less worthy in the eyes of the customer. Anything, with high price, would seem of high quality right? So, you can afford to set high prices. I see some authors setting tooo low prices for their relatively longer articles, I guess it is not advisable.

Amen brother! We've all had that epiphany, even though poor Celeste has argued it until she is blue in the face. Yet still, those still in the dark cheapen their content to $5 or $7 for full rights.... one day we all be enlightened! :)
