Difficulty with the Widget
Hello,
I am fairly new to CC and I just recently decided to start blogging. I tried to use the CC widget in my blog but it will not work. I watched the video and I followed its instructions, to the letter. However the link on my blog just appears as constant content and when I click on it the link takes me to the general articles page instead of my own articles. Sorry if this is confusing but I know I am doing everything right, could there be something wrong with html code that is on my profile?

Re: Difficulty with the Widget
You may need to enter your "author number" into the widget's code. It's the number that shows up in your CC referral link. Which blog host are you using?
Re: Difficulty with the Widget
Um do you mean like what is my blog's name? Sorry I am really new to blogging so it is a little confusing

Re: Difficulty with the Widget
I mean are you using Blogger, WordPress, or some other blogging platform? If it's one I'm familiar with, I may be able to walk you through editing the widget's code to include your author number.

Re: Difficulty with the Widget
okay, go into Blogger, click "Design" and find the "Edit" link associated with the "gadget" for your CC widget. A new window opens with all the source code for the widget.
It will look like this:
<div id="ccTank" style="width:200px; font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:10px;background:url(http://www.constant-content.com/images/ ... header.png) repeat-x top left #0067a2;">
<div id="ccView"><script src="http://www.constant-content.com/library ... uthor=3664" type="text/javascript"></script></div>
<div id="ccFoot" style="background:#0067a2;padding:0px;"><a alt="Original Articles. Constant-Content" style="color:#fff;text-decoration: none;padding:0px;" href="http://www.constant-content.com/"><img alt="Buy Articles at Constant-Content" style="border:none; vertical-align:middle; padding:0px;" src="http://www.constant-content.com/images/ ... ticles.png" />Original Articles. Constant-Content.</a></div>
</div>
See the 3rd line above that says 'ccView / script source? Now look where it says "author=3664" above. 3664 is my CC author number. If yours doesn't have a value there, that might be the problem. I know this because my affiliate link is http://www.constant-content.com/?aref=3664. You can find your link when you sign into CC on the home screen in the upper right corner. Enter your author number there (make sure to close it with quotes if they aren't there.
Hopefully that will work. I assume you have approved articles currently available for sale, right?

Re: Difficulty with the Widget
Yes ma'am I do I have several articles for sale and four currently under review Unfortunately I just tried to do what you suggested and it didn't work. What I mean is my author number is in there but it still wont work on my blog....I just get a constant content logo that links straight into my account, which I don't want.

Can you copy and paste the code here? I'll try it in my blogger account and see if anything strikes me.

Re: Difficulty with the Widget
Hmmn, it worked fine when I copied and pasted your author number into my existing gadget. I saw two articles, one about moving, the other about resumes. But when I tried to create a new gadget, it didn't. I'm not sure what's up.

Could it be something wrong with blogger?

Re: Difficulty with the Widget
It may be that you are trying to view the widget with an older version of explorer, or another browser. I had a compatability problem with mine. It looks great with the newest ie, but when I looked at it in the compatability mode, the widget was all blue where the article listing should be.
