Same Research, Two Articles

If you've written a long article (not for request) and priced it accordingly, is it okay to take an element out of that article, and write a new, shorter article just on that element? Both would be on similar subjects, but the second would be more focused and shorter (and less expensive - in line with the requestor's guidelines.)

I'm not willing to make a longer research article less expensive, but I wanted to know if it's okay to use the same research to write a new article that would work for a public request.
