Question from a new user

Post by lifeinHD »

I remember reading somewhere that new authors can only submit 3 articles at a time. I can't find it on the site now. Is this true? I haven't made more than 3 articles yet (obviously!) =P

Also, how long does it take for an article to be reviewed? I'm guessing its within 2 weeks, but I'm curious what the average wait time is for authors.

Hi,

on average articles are reviewed in 3 days, but it can take longer. You can submit as many as you want only you are allowed a limit of 3 rejections. If you get rejected take the time and effort to carefully reconstruct your article. I would recommend submitting one first to see if yoru writing is up to snuff, and then go from there. This site demands quality work, unlike other common sites like Associated COntent.

Thanks for responding, NicWrites, but I need to make a correction:

New authors may only submit 3 articles at first. If you get approved on them all, you can continue to submit as many as you want thereafter. However, follow Nic's advice on revising carefully if you receive a rejection.

The 3 rejection limit is not carved in stone, but if we don't see improvement in the author's submissions, we adhere to it and will suspend the author. I hope this helps.

thanks for the info =)

although i didn't realize that rejections can get you kicked off. i already have 3 rejections for really really stupid mistakes (not capitalizing, not putting prices, accidentally using private requeset) but not really for content (yet). Have people been kicked out before because of rejections? I never read about that in the guidelines or FAQ.

Many have had their accounts suspended but the editors and CC staff have some discretion as far as that goes. They understand the learning curve. I believe what they are looking at is overall grammar/punct as well as willingness to improve. They aren't meanies that will ban you for submitting in Works format versus Word as you learn the system. Hang in there and do your best!
