Formatting issues on numbered lists

Hi,

I am writing my articles in Word for Mac, version 15. I have had two articles rejected because when they are saved, the numbered lists all end up as "1." I have tried saving as different files, going to Chrome, Safari, etc. and I am still having issues. No matter what I try, when I reserve the edited version, it saves all the numbers as "1." Does anyone have any ideas what I can do do remedy this?
