This is such a weird question...
I had the wonderful opportunity to witness two 100-year-old Aldabra Tortoises mating. I have great photos of the behavior, which I think would be highly marketable to wildlife, conservation, or ecological publications. They would even be great for use in an academic setting.
Here's my problem...if someone posted a picture of two dogs mating, I would consider that tacky and be appalled that it was actually accepted. So I would understand if these photos were rejected based on the subject matter, since accepting them might open other people to submit photos of animals humping each other that are entirely crass and a waste of your time.
But...they seem like they would actually have market value. There is NO view of the tortoises genitalia whatsoever. That part of the animals is actually behind a rock and some tall grass. Without the explanation, one might think they were just playing, like puppies and kittens whose mothers nip the backs of their necks.
Should I submit the photos and let you decide? Or do you feel they would violate the part of the guidelines about "pornographic" or "inappropriate" materials? I can not find anything in the forums about whether or not these would be considered "in poor taste" or not.
Thank you in advance for answering! I know the question is bizarre. I may just end up passing the shots along to my Biology professor.
Question about appropriateness

It seems fine to me, since this is something not regularly witnessed (whereas two dogs mating is fairly common). And turtles mating would probably just look like one turtle on top of another, since they have hard shells. Analyzing this is making me laugh, so I'll just ask:
What does everyone else think?

Personally, I don't think the photo as described here in the forum would be offensive, inappropriate or pornographic. What might cause a little problem is how you worded the description so that a potential buyer would know what your photo was about and want to purchase it.
I'll be interested to see what you eventually decide. Interesting question.
