Do You Read the Blog? Do Others?

Hi Writers,

I just wondered who reads the blog posts and if you think others (new authors) are reading them? I know many of them are geared towards new writers, but sometimes I feel that this is the only way to communicate something that isn't getting through. I did just realize that the search function doesn't work for the blogs.

It is a frozen day here in Ohio. I am stir-crazy and one of Grouchy's margaritas is sounding good right about now. It's only 10 am. I am in trouble.

I read the blogs too, Ed. But I didn't when I was first here. Somthing in the firum directed me there and I check for new ones regularly ever since.

We're having a grey old day over here in Blighty.

Good morning - I read your blogs too, and appreciate them. Not only do I learn stuff but it's fun becoming familiar with your writing style. I wish there were a way to promote them somehow - the info is always very worthwhile. Any way to do a bit of "marketing"?

Okay, so at least three people can tell me if I've said something dumb.

I'm glad some people are getting something out of them. And, garsh . . . if only all of us could have people read our writing "religiously."

I read your blog. Even if it's something I already know, I take it as a good reminder. And I really like the weekend writing tips - but does it frustrate you if no one takes your idea and runs with it?

I just started reading the blog about a month ago. I had totally overlooked the blog up on the menu bar - and I didn't realize there was anything there till there was the discussion of the New Year's Resolution. Now I check and and read at least once a week. The recent one about personality types was quite interesting, I thought. And that brings up a good point: I wanted to go back and reread the one about resolutions, (they were inspiring,first read through) and saw they were gone. Any way to access them through archives?

Anyway, hope you continue with the blog, Ed. It's another way this site stands out.

I read your blogs, Ed. In fact, I read anything I can find on this site sometimes, especially when I'm feeling lazy about getting down to the next thing to write. I know that might sound like a back-handed compliment but it's not (and I am sort of joking - about reading only so as not having to write). I enjoy reading your posts and find the info useful. I think the blog needs a little more prominence though as I can see it being easily overlooked.

Lauren - no it doesn't frustrate me if no one uses my suggestions. The weekly writing ideas are just to get the inspirational juices flowing. Maybe an author will need something to write about a month down the line and remember one of these that he or she particularly liked.

I'll ask about the blog search feature. Maybe it just needs a good kick. Knowing that some writers actually peruse the site (established ones as well as new) means that having the blog search working will help to disseminate the information contained within.
