I have no problem uploading my profile but still cannot "set" a featured article. All of my featured articles are sold. I can locate another article and "set as featured," but it does nothing, and for the first time, I got this message today:
Warning: mysql_pconnect() [function.mysql-pconnect]: Access denied for user 'constant'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /home/constant/public_html/add_featured.php on line 8
No connection
I'm looking forward to setting current articles as features.
Thanks,
Aariana

I'm trying to remember when I did it. The same thing happened. I think I had to wait until the page completely loaded. It took forever because it lists ALL articles sold and unsold so I had 2000 or more. Once it completely loaded, it worked.
Oh, that's right. I just went over and hit Features Update. It had to do with that "Keep running script - yes/no" message. You have to answer "yes" or else it doesn't work. I had to answer "yes" several times as it went through the process. Once all the messages stop popping up, you should be able to make your deselections/selections.

Celeste, I cannot see a Features Update. When I go into Featured Articles, I can search for an article, check it and set it as featured, but then nothing happens. I did try letting the page load - for a very long time. I can only see about 12-15 articles in the list. There are more, but I cannot scroll down the screen.
I see nothing that says Running Script and have no opportunity to answer "yes."
I have unchecked all the articles and reset the ones I want, but it changes nothing.
I'm assuming you have access to Features Update after clicking Featured Articles under our bio?? Where did you find the Features Update button? If it is at the bottom of the screen, I cannot get there. Word Gypsy suggested changing my screen pixels, which I tried but that didn't do it.
Thanks so much for your help. I'd really like to make this work.

I believe that I may have referred to the button/link incorrectly. Whatever it's called, I think it is the same one you're talking about. Maybe your web browser is set with a security setting that doesn't allow scripts to run? Mine may be set to prompt before running scripts which would explain why I get the message.
Constant can probably tell us for sure. Maybe check your settings under Internet Explorer/Tools/Internet Options/Security under Scripting (advanced options)? That's my initial guess off the top of my head....

Celeste, thanks for this. I've been trying to understand scripting since your suggestions - haven't gotten very far I have an iMac and use Firefox. I've tried using Safari to change the featured article but it doesn't work either.
I've found what I think is scripting. I am JavaScript enabled and Java enabled.
There are no other options.
I think I'll try support.
I really appreciate your willingness to help.

Glad to help in some small way. Hopefully it helped the MS Windows folks.
Yep, that losing an hour is a bit of a drag at first but I do like the late summer evenings with lots of sunshine...
Isn't that link fun? I just ran Grouchy's "bubblegum" phrase to see what came up. Who knew "banana fish bubble gum" was so popular?
Don't forget to sort by "Average Search Volume." Just click the link and it will sort by most popular to least.
