Submitted my first CC article!!

Post by AThompson »

Okay! Yay, me!

It's only 340 words, and I know it's kinda cutting it close being an Easter article, but I needed to submit or else risk losing courage altogether!

I've submitted to Helium, but that doesn't really count as they accept everything. I'm looking forward to being able to hold my own here!

Now I just have to polish up my Home Decor article and submit that too!

:)

Congratulations. Doesn't it feel good? I would encourage you to focus on one website at a time because anything you post on helium can't be removed by you for any reason. An article that I had posted on the site that was rejected by that leapfrog, I sold here for $25, go figure. I found that I was not as excited as others were when I earned my first penny from that site and honestly after months and 50 articles, I am up to $1.65, not enough for a cup of coffee. Here, I have found that you will receive pay for your work that gives you a reasonable per hour wage.

Thanks melissan!

I too have abandoned Helium. I still visit the site (for article ideas  ), and I check out what their Marketplace is asking for. Some are duplicates of the requests on our Marketplace, some are very different. The earnings there are hopeless, though.

At CC, I feel that if I am accepted, it means something. When I start selling articles, it will be something to be proud of. Without any editors, Helium is awash with people who - I'm sorry - but can't construct a sentence properly. I'm not Ernest Hemingway, but I'm working hard at being a decent writer, and I pursue professionalism. I feel like those of us who work hard and regard our writing seriously are lost at Helium beneath mountains of product cranked out by those who are...less serious. I just find it demoralising.

I only have two articles up so far here at CC, but more are on the way!

Thank you for the congrats!

Yes, you have made right choice, CC is extremely good. it doesnt accept content from anyone. Only the worthy can write and get published here, and get purchased in turn. I am a lousy, perhaps lousiest editor of contents, and often get rejections for the first draft I submit here. However, my sales record so far is really good, I made 19 sales out of 23 articles in a month. And in my country (India), with this kind of money I made, I can be far better off in a month.

Another important thing is you can really make a career from this, if you have a portfolio full of great content, purchased content, then the CC sales record is a good experience certificate if you apply for a writing job anywhere else. CC just rocks!!

Thank you for the encouragement, vjlenin!!

I was away from writing for a long time and was afraid I couldn't get back into it again. I am currently "between jobs" (thanks to corporate downsizing) and I am determined to make a go of this long term.

Determination and hard work must never be underestimated!
