I was recently reviewing the author guidelines and I am confused about this:
"Promotional articles, articles with promotional language, or articles that contain author contact information will not be considered."
I have just finished editing what I hope will be my first submission. The article recommends teaching children a specific skill. The final section of the article guides parents on how to get started. In that section I have named a specific corporation and a free service they provide. Is that considered promotional?
I would not have named the corporation, but their free learning tools are so much better than any others I have found, I felt the need to direct parents to them. I have personal experience with the frustration of finding useful learning tools for this particular age group. My intention is not to promote the company, but to enable parents.
Do I need to remove the corporation's name from my article?
Promotional Articles?? Is this breaking the rules???
