Most Prolific Authors Page

Just out of curiosity - how are the top 10 Most Prolific Authors figured on the main Author page? Is that how many articles they have published in a lifetime - or is it how many they currently have available? I noticed that if I click on an author's name they have a completely different total of published articles than what is stated in the Top Ten list.

Just thought I'd ask...

I think it's how many articles they have published on CC. The numbers in their profiles reflect how many are currently available and how many have sold.
