Newbie from NY!

Greetings fellow writers,
I am new to CC and excited about breaking into the world of the written word. Quick question, though: Is there a way to submit poetry? I'll be writing other things as well, but I have some poetry I would like published or purchased...any advice/ideas/suggestions?
