Yet another question about links

Post by cgardener »

There is a request for which I have a unpublished blog article that was just lying around that would be perfect. The problem is, the article lends itself to links to other sites. I used about 5 different links in the context of the article. It just doesn't work without them, as it's a DIY sort of thing that needs references to online resources. How would I submit that?

Am I allowed to put the site name in the article, and reference it as a source with a source number, so that they could link to them themselves?

Could I put the linked site sources in brackets next to the place where they are mentioned?

DIY's are very difficult to do without listing sources.

You are allowed to mention website names such as:
HomeDepot.com
Constant-Content.com
BankofAmerica.com
RedCross.org

In other words, we can't mention an independent website that has a tutorial on it. It has to be some sort of big well known commercial venture?

Nooooo, as long as it's not a link, you should be fine. For example:

"JoesCouponDepot.com offers tutorials and articles covering the fine art of coupon clipping."

(Unless of course you are Joe who is blantantly self-promoting himself......)

Thanks, Celeste. That's all I wanted to do. Nice to know I can use this article, but need to do a little rewriting first.
