A Serious Payment Suggestion

Post by vjlenin »

Hi dear friends, I haven't been writing in CC for quite some time. The reason is not just that I am a little busier these days. But also that my payment is a little in trouble. I had mentioned earlier (I guess in this forum itself) that my Paypal account is blocked, since I don't have a credit card. This has become such a problem that now I can't get paid thru paypal from any service that pays thru paypal. CC is like that. CC pays me into my paypal and it stays there, I can't withdraw that money into my bank. I need to get a credit card and only then I will be able to lift all limits.

This is one of the reasons why I am writing less and less in any paypal-paid service such as CC. What use writing, if I can't actually get the money into my bank? I am now making some money through adsense since they can send me checks.

Such payment problems are faced by many people here.

So, I have a suggestion to CC. Why don't you check out payment through Payoneer prepaid mastercard? It is a very good payment option now supported by many blogging job sites (like reviewme), freelance sites like guru.com, affiliate networks like Plimus, etc.

It is a mastercard which can be used to withdraw money from anywhere around the world. For international users, it is far better than Paypal. The fees are also low.

I invite all of the authors who have problem with payments, to read more about it at payoneer.com and support me if you like the idea.

If you have a checking account, you can add it. Adding the checking account makes for an easier transition of sending from Paypal to your bank account anyway. The credit card is usually only for making payments anyway.

Barry, for us outside the US, no payment option other than paypal is available. If payoneer is enabled it will be great for us.

The reason I suggested the checking account option with Paypal is because all it needs is routing and account numbers. Bank routing and account numbers are pretty universal.

Do you mean that you can't access your Paypal account at all, or you just can't transfer funds? If it's just the funds transfer, then an avtivated checking account on Paypal will do wonders. I had problems using my credit/debit card (when transferring funds) back into my account. After I added my checking account, it only takes two to three days for the transfer to complete.

I'm not sure of the details for why your Paypal account is blocked, but you mentioned that it's because you don't have a credit card...

So, I'm not sure if this will help you, but you might want to look into the other account options with Paypal. I've used and transferred money from Paypal since before I ever had a credit card. I just hooked it into my savings account at the bank and was able to then transfer the money out. I'm also not in the US, though I'm not sure if different places have different restrictions.

I'm not in the US, and I don't have a credit card either but I've not had any problems with being paid by Paypal. I've got my Paypal account linked to my bank account (which is a UK current account) and a UK cashcard (which I use to withdraw money at cashpoints).

@Sally, Nessie, Barry

Hi thanks for your replies. Here is the situation.

Barry, as you said, I have a bank account linked to my paypal system and I used to withdraw money to it monthly. But a few days ago paypal simply blocked the account and is asking for a credit card for verification. The reason they state is that I logged in from multiple IP addresses (which is because I have a dynamic internet connection). I have a debit card which is not accepted by them. Also, not a single debit card from India is accepted in paypal. We must have a credit card. A bank account alone doesn't verify paypal here. It still shows 'unverified, blocked'.

CC doesnt give us any other option of payments other than paypal. Maybe for US, you have checking accounts as an option, not for us. This is why I suggest you guys to support payoneer as an option. Will you? Please reply back if you have more doubts.

Thanks all

I access my Pay Pal account from Pakistan and I haven't had any problems. I got a Pay Pal debit card/ATM which allows me to draw the money out anywhere in the world for only a $1 fee. That is much better than the $5 on my Bank of America card for international ATM transactions. The Pay Pal debit accesses my Pay Pal money directly. I also linked a bank account to my Pay Pal and can transfer money in or out within a matter of days. No credit cards involved in the whole process.

Heather, I don't know how you do that, but if you are only beginning to transfer money, then wait until you cross about 600 or so dollars. Unless you access paypal with a static IP address, I guess paypal will block u too. I don know about the paypal debit card, but I don think there is an option like that for us Indians.

Hmm....I think you do need to have a physical address in the United States and a backup account to apply for the Pay Pal Debit.

For anyone interested to know more, I did find one article about it here on AC:
http://www.associatedcontent.com/articl ... tml?cat=46

You're right though, this may not be an option if you don't have a permanent address in the US. Too bad....

Yes, very difficult for us.

That's ill-worded. Seems to make others think that you mean everyone should have a US address. I hope that's not what u mean. We are very happy here in our country. ;-)

Hello,

I have just registered as an Author and would like to know how Authors in India are paid. Can someone help me understand this?

I would like to understand the entire process before I start submitting any articles to CC.

I'm not in India, so someone else may have to step in here if things are different. For me in Canada, it works like this...

Once you've sold an article, money goes into your CC account. When your amount due has reached the payment threshold (which has been recently been lowered to $5) then you will be sent a payment to the PayPal account that you've provided in your account details (listed under "My Account"). Payments are always sent at the beginning of each month - usually within the first few days.
