Private Request Concern

Post by J. A. Young »

I'm new to the private request system and have noticed a potential problem. I got a request, got very excited and wrote and submitted this morning. I kept checking for approval so I could let the other party know that I had written something so they could buy it before someone else did--not that I really thought someone else would, but it is in a category that frequently sells well & fast. So, what happened is that it did sell before I could let the customer know this afternoon. Of course, they may have bought it--I can't tell because everything is anonymous, but what if someone else purchased it? How can I be sure the private request gets filled? And, is there a way for CC to let me know the article was bought by the requester or a different party? --Jennifer

I was worried about that happening too, but apparently there's no way around it. You could always post a message to your private requester to check and ask if they purchased the article and, if you look under 'Licenses for your content' it should say who bought it. Additionally, you could also look at the number of articles your private requester has bought, and if it's gone up one since last time, then it may be them!
