Summaries and Introductions

Post by laureno »

Hi,

What should be the primary difference between an article's summary and its introduction? Is it ok if they're very similar?

Thanks.

By 'introduction' do you mean the introductory paragraph in the article itself?

The summary is intended to summarize the entire article. An introduction introduces the article to tell the reader what information they can expect to receive by reading the article. Summaries and introductions must be different from one another. Short summaries must follow all guidelines for short summaries.
